San Diego Day 6

Our final day was spent at Sea World. We picked the perfect time to go to the parks because it was the during the week right after Labor Day, so all the kids were back to school and there was NO ONE at the parks. It was perfect. We had a great time seeing all the water animals. Lucy definitely seemed interested in several of the exhibits at Sea World. However, her favorite part of the day was the Sesame Street water area. It was an entire play area for kids with different water spouts and sprinklers, as well as tubes to crawl through, etc. She LOVED it. We didn't know that it was there beforehand, or else we would have brought her swimsuit, so we waited until the end of the day since it made her clothes soaked. Later that evening, we had dinner with one of Jason's fraternity brothers and his wife who live in San Diego. They had a great time catching up on old times as well as "where are they now?" from their fraternity. It was a great end to the trip.

San Diego Day 5

Day 5 was spent at the Wild Animal Park. This was a really neat place because the animals are more in their natural environment (big huge open spaces) as opposed to life in a zoo. In order to view a large portion of the animals, you have to take a bus tour to get back to path to see all of the animals. Needless to say, Lucy was not a fan of sitting on our laps for a 20 minute bus trip. I spent the entire time trying to entertain her so that she wouldn't disturb the other people while Jason took all the pictures. I didn't really get to see much, but it was still beautiful. It was HOT that day, so we didn't stay at the park too long. We headed back to the hotel, got our swim gear on and headed to the beach again. Since Lucy loved it so much the first time, we thought she deserved to see it again. This time we headed across the Coronado Bridge and went to Coronado Beach. It was equally as beautiful, but the water CHILLY. Here are the pics from the day.

San Diego Day 4

Day 4 was the San Diego Zoo. Man, that place is HUGE. It is impossible to see it all in one day, but we saw alot of it. It is a beautiful place, with ALOT of steep walking. Needless to say, we had our workouts for the week covered from pushing the stroller up and down the hills of that zoo. We saw lots of cool animals. You can tell that Lucy is starting to be more interested in things like the zoo which is exciting. She LOVED the giraffes and sat there constantly pointing at them. Even though our zoo isn't quite up to the same level, it will be fun to take her and watch her enthusiasm for the animals grow.

San Diego Day 3

Day 3 was our lunch cruise around the San Diego Harbour. It was a 2 hour cruise that included a meal and journeyed out around San Diego. We had a great time seeing the sights and enjoying the food. Lucy liked walking around the boat outside (which was kind of scary, so we opted to hold her most of the time). The afternoon was spent poolside at our hotel. Here are the pics from the day.

San Diego Day 2

Day 2 consisted of going to La Jolla Beach. We had no idea how this was going to go, seeing as Lucy has never been near sand, nor that much water. She LOVED LOVED LOVED the beach. She couldn't get enough of it. She would run out to the water and run back in and then do it all over again. If you tried to take her away, she would get mad. She loved putting her hands in the sand (and eating a little, unfortunately), and loved sitting in the water as the waves came crashing into her. It was so much fun to watch. San Diego Day 1

The beginning of September, we took our first long family vacation that required a plane ride. We drove down to Cincinnati so that we could have a direct, 4 hour flight, to San Diego, California. Armed with lots of activities and plenty of snacks, we felt very prepared for the journey. Lucy did remarkably well for her first plane ride. The cabin pressure did not seem to bother her and she seemed completely content with taking a nap and passing the time with reading books and playing with her toys. All in all, it was a success and we would definitely do it again.

The first day, we pretty much didn't do anything because we attempted to adjust Lucy to the time difference. So drove around to check out the surroundings and hung out at the hotel.

Happy 3rd Anniversary to Us

Today is our third anniversary. A lot has changed in the last three years, but neither one of us would change a thing. We couldn't be happier and enjoy each and every day with each other. Becoming parents together changed us immensely, for the better I would say, and having Lucy as part of our lives makes the days even better. As a tribute to today, I thought I would share a few pictures from the past.
