Little Birdie

This evening I decided to try giving Lucy some puffs to see what she would do with them. I figured since everything she touches goes instantly towards her mouth, this would be no different. However, I was quite wrong. Instead, I dumped some on the tray, she would pick one up and then just move them around, and never even attempt to put them in her mouth. HOWEVER, if I picked one up, her mouth would open up like a baby birdie and she wanted me to feed them to her. She loves them, however I'm not quite sure how to teach her to feed them to herself. In the meantime, the baby birdie show was comical to me, so I had to get it on video.

Like My Makeup??

Don't you think peaches and green beans match my coloring??

Six Months Old

Lucy was six months old yesterday. I am one day late in posting this. I am usually on top of getting this on here right away, but we have been out of town, so I didn't get that accomplished this time. Time has absolutely flown by. As you may be able to tell by the photo, Lucy is starting to sit up on her own. She is doing pretty well, but still benefits from something soft behind her. She loves putting EVERYTHING in her mouth. She chews on any toy that you give her and also is a fan of the remote control and the phone. She is also enjoying trying all kinds of new foods. We are in absolute awe of her every day and cannot wait for all of the exciting adventures ahead.

Lucy also had her 6 month check-up this week. Unfortunately, she still has an ear infection. So, we are trying a third antibiotic. We have to go back in two weeks and if her ears still look bad, then she will have to get an antibiotic shot. If that doesn't do the trick, then we are off to an ear, nose, and throat specialist. Hopefully it won't come to all of that, but we will do whatever it takes to make her better. Luckily, she doesn't act sick. If we didn't tell you that she had a double ear infection, you would never know. We were given the go ahead to basically feed her anything that we want. The pediatrician said that if it is on our plate and we can mush it down, then we can try and give it to her, so the possibilities our endless. We'll probably stick to baby food for awhile, but give her samples here and there. Here are her stats from the appointment.
Weight: 16 pounds (52 percentile)
Height: 28 inches (98 percentile)
Still TALL and SKINNY just like daddy.

Lucy Laughing

Jason discovered that if he makes this particular noise at Lucy, it makes her laugh hysterically, so we decided to take a video of it. Who doesn't love to hear a baby laugh???

This is for Daddy

Jason (aka Daddy) has been working late night shifts (3:30pm-2am) this week, so he hasn't been able to spend as much time with Lucy. We took some pictures this evening so that Daddy could see her in action from work. Here you go Daddy. WE LOVE YOU!!!!

Congrats Nick and Krissy!

We spent the weekend in Fort Wayne to be a part of our good friends Nick and Krissy's wedding. It was a beautiful weekend and we had a wonderful time. Lucy was a trooper with the change in her schedule. She was up much later than usual, but she didn't seem to mind. It was nice to get away for a few days and have some fun. Congrats Nick and Krissy!!!
