We have a crawler

Well, we have a crawler. It's amazing the dfference a few days can make. She has come a long way since the video below. Today was the day that she decided she would crawl, and she hasn't stopped since. You put her down, and she goes. Here is a short video that I took of her today. If you have the sound on, you can also here her saying "da-da" while she is crawling. Don't worry, she can say "ma-ma" too, but "da-da" is definitely what she says most often.

Lucy Cruising

Like I said in the previous post, Lucy isn't quite crawling yet, but she still figures out how to get herself around. We call it "the worm." She lifts up on her arms and pulls her legs forward, flops on the floor, and starts the process all over again. I took this video of her this evening.

Eight Months Old

Lucy is eight months old today. Today's picture was by far the most difficult one to take so far. She doesn't like to sit still anymore, plus she really wanted to eat the paper. I included some of the outake pictures for your enjoyment as well. This is the best picture that I could get. I gave up trying.

It is amazing how much Lucy has grown up. She still isn't quite crawling, but we really expect her to do it any day now. For now, she just scoots herself where she wants to go, or does "the worm" to get there. If she really wants to get there, she finds a way, it's just not by crawling yet. She loves to feed herself, so I keep trying to find things that are soft enough for her to eat on her own. She's up to eight teeth now (four on the top, four on the bottom). We think she might be cutting her molars already as well, since she is constantly chewing on her thumb in the back of er mouth, so we'll see how that goes. She's starting to use a sippy cup. Sometimes she's more interested in playing with it, but we're trying. She's so much fun to just watch and see what she is trying to absorb. It always seems like her little mind is constantly going. She brings so much joy to our lives.

The best shot we could get

What she would have rather been doing the whole time

What she did with the paper after the pictures

Being cute after it was all said and done

Visitors

This photo was taken a few weeks ago from a tree in our back yard. These little rascals were up there playing and cleaning each other. Fortunately, they didn't see me with the camera so I was able to get a decent shot of them. It was really cold on this day, so this must be a nice refuge from the inclimate weather. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Easter 2009

We had a wonderful first Easter with Lucy. We spent Saturday in North Vernon with Jason's family, then headed to Rushville Saturday evening and stayed at my parents house. We went to church Sunday morning and then had lunch with my family. It was a great weekend filled with lots of love, lots of candy, and gifts from the Easter bunny. Here are some pics from Lucy's first Easter.

I'm a Big Girl Now

Lucy has graduated out of her infant car seat. She still had a way to go in the weight limit, but she was too long, so we had to upgrade to the convertible carseat for her. She seems to really like it because now she can see out the window in the car, which is an added bonus over the old car seat. Here's the big girl in her big girl car seat.

Eder Look-alike Meter

So I have to admit that I stole this from Jenna's blog because I was curious. I have to admit, that I was a little surprised myself. I fully expected it to say that Lucy looked like Jason, but I was pleasently suprised with the results.
