Wind = Kite Flying

We bought Lucy a couple of kites and had been waiting for a good windy day to fly them. Lucy would ask everyday if we could, and finally one day we said yes. I think Jason enjoyed it just as much as she did.

Fun at the Fair

Nothing says summer like the county fair. The county we live in doesn't have a typical county fair, it's only a 4H livestock fair, not the full fledged, ride the rides, play the games, etc type of fair that Jason and I grew up with as kids. Therefore, we took Lucy to Rushville so that she could experience a true county fair. We ran into our friends The Phillips' while we were there, so Lucy had friends to ride the rides with. She had so much fun.

Lucy riding the carousel with Daddy. I think she rode it 100 times.
Fun house slide with Daddy.  This was not made for adults, especially 6'6" ones.
Riding the motorcycles with Ella.
Ella, Lucy, Maddux, and Jackson riding the cars.
Some rides required an adult to go along.  Stefanie was the lucky one this time.
Lucy riding her favorite thing ever.  THE CAROUSEL
Showing me her duck she retrieved in her game.
This is what the twins did the whole time.  They did so well just hanging out.
Mommy took Lucy down the big slide.
At the end of the night, Lucy enjoying a fair staple....COTTON CANDY!

THREE Months Old

(Liam - left, Lucas - right)
The twins are three months old.  They don't have a doctor appointment for this month, so I don't have updated weights, but it is obvious that they are still growing like weeds.  They keep getting bigger and stronger everyday.  They have changed quite a bit in this past month.  They started smiling and cooing.  They are more awake and alert for greater periods of time.  They still wake up once overnight to eat, but overall they are doing good with sleeping.  Reflux doesn't really seem to be much of an issue anymore.  We keep trying different things to make it better.  They moved to their cribs and out of our room this month.  So far, so good.  I know that I sleep more soundly because I can't hear every single sound that they make over the monitor.  Evening time is still a little rough.  They both suffer from the "witching hours" of crying and fussiness, but hopefully it won't last forever.  We're managing.
Lucy wanted to get in on the picture taking too.  That doesn't happen very often.

Family Pictures

We had our family pictures taken this weekend.  We went to Lion's Park in Zionsville and took pictures along the nature trail.  The pictures were mainly to have updated ones of Lucy and she did such a great job.  The photographer said she literally smiled for every picture. We can't wait to see all of them.  You can see some of them by clicking the link at the beginning of the post.  If you ever need photos taken, we would definitely recommend our photographer.  Check her out at  http://www.meredithgradlephotography.com/

Strawberry Picking

Lucy and I went to Spencer's Farm in Noblesville to pick strawberries.  You just grab a box and head to the field to pick your own, or you can go in their store and pick some up that someone else picked for you.  We wanted the full experience, so we grabbed a box and headed out.  Lucy kept saying, "here's one, here's another one."
At first she was all about it.
Picking nicely.

Then she realized, "Hey, I LOVE strawberries," and you instead found her doing this for the remainder of the time.  I'm pretty sure she ate more than she picked.  She kept saying, "These are REALLY good mommy."

Lucy's School Music Performance

Lucy's school put on a special music performance over the weekend.  Each class was divided up by boys and girls and they danced around to songs.  We were looking forward to it, because Lucy had been dancing around the house, and it was obvious that it was for what she had been practicing at school.  It was really cute. The school provided all the costumes.  Lucy just had to show up in tennis shoes.
Their first song was "I Can Sing a Rainbow." Each person had a different color tights to go with their multicolored dress.
There next song was "Work Song" from the movie Tangled.  Everyone was pretending to clean.  This is Lucy in her cleaning outfit and her feather duster.

Anytime she walked off stage, you could tell she was scanning the audience trying to find us.
This picture cracks me up.  This is Lucy next to her "friend" Morgen.  I say it that way, because these two are definitely hot and cold.  They pick on each other constantly.  Sometimes you'll catch them give each other a hug and sometimes you'll catch them giving each other a shove.  Why they would put these two next to each other is beyond me.

Fun Days with the Phillips'

Lucy has another best friend.  Ever since my cousin Mary's wedding last October, I discovered that one of the other bridesmaids in the wedding literally lives 5 minutes away from us.  I've known Stefanie since I was in elementary school, but we were never close enough to keep in touch after high school.  Stefanie has 2 little girls.  Her oldest, Ella, is 3 months older than Lucy.  We've been arranging playdates since the wedding, and now that I am working only parttime, we try to get together every Wednesday (and other days as well), so the girls can play together.  They have so much fun together.  We've been to the zoo, the pool, and just hung out at each other's house.
Lucy in the splash pad at the zoo waiting to see if water will fall on her.  It never did.
Running around the splash pad
The girls checking out the rhinos from the wagon.  This is probably the only time they were actually in the wagon.  Most of the time we were pulling it empty.
Checking out the flamingos.
Checking out the sharks (a favorite)
Hanging out at the pool
The boys took a nap poolside under their sun shade tent
