First Tooth

We have a first tooth sighting! One of Lucy's teachers from daycare told us that she noticed her first tooth had broken through. It apparently had happened overnight and we hadn't noticed it yet before we had taken her to daycare this morning. Now we understand why Lucy woke up twice last night crying. Normally she is hungry, but she wasn't that interested in food. Since she is so young, we didn't really think about the possibility of her teething. Time for the Eder family to test out our teething ring collection.

Lucy's First Christmas

We had a very eventful Christmas this year, with four different gatherings to attend. Lucy got to meet several new family members. It made for several long days, and some late nights getting home, but we survived. We are so thankful that most of our family is so close and that we were able to spend the holidays with them.

Ummmmmmmm......Rice Cereal

Lucy got to try rice cereal for the first time tonight as well as sit in her new high chair. It actually went a little better than we thought it would. We think she actually might have consumed some of it, but there was also a lot of spitting out. It is quite convenient that she just learned to blow bubbles (on purpose) the other day and now we are trying to feed her food. Guess what she does when you feed her??? That's right, blows bubbles, therefore blowing cereal right in your face. Here are a few pictures from the first go around.

4 Month Appointment

Lucy had her 4 month appointment on Friday. The pediatrician said that she is perfect (which we already knew). She is fighting a cold right now and has a terrible runny nose, but it doesn't seem to bother her, except when you try to wipe her nose. She sometimes sounds like a little piglet with her breathing which is actually kind of cute, but we hope she gets better soon. Here are her stats.
Weight: 14 pounds (60th percentile)
Height: 26 inches (95th percentile)
Based on those numbers, I wonder which parent she will take after. Tall and skinny???? We were given the official go ahead to start solid food, so we are planning on starting that on Monday with some rice cereal. I'll be sure and post some pictures of that experience, because I'm anticipating that it will be quite messy.

Christmas Through the Years

Every year, a group of us from high school gets together for Christmas (that's not the only time we get together, but we always do Christmas). This years gathering was on Saturday and was at our house. It is amazing how much we have all changed, and how our group has grown through the years. I decided to dig through my pictures to see if I could find any from our previous years. Over the years, with children, our group has grown from 6 to 11 (with 2 more on the way). They are an amazing group of girls and I love them to death.

Can you hear me????

Lucy has discovered that her voice can be louder if she so chooses, and apparently today is the day she chose to show us her skills.

There are toys on this thing????

Lucy discovered for the first time today that there are toys dangling from her rain forest play mat. Today was the first day that she noticeably made a purposeful movement towards playing with them.
