Lucy and her walker

Lucy has been walking with her walker for a couple of weeks, but we've always had to hold onto the walker as she walked because she pushed it too fast for her to keep up. Not as of today. She can do it all by herself (except for steering). I have a feeling that we will have a walker sooner rather than later.

Father's Day Weekend

On Saturday, we went down to the southside to our friends Jen and Scott's for a cookout along with two other couples. We had a great time enjoying some wonderful food and good company. Lucy had fun playing with Wes and Jack. She also showed off her new skills at climbing stairs. On Sunday, we spent Jason's first Father's Day at home hanging out as a family. After Lucy's afternoon nap, we headed to our neighborhood pool so that Jason and Lucy could get in the water. All in all, we had a great weekend. Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

Ten Months Old

Lucy is 10 months old today. Jason thinks that I should give up on these monthly pictures because it has become virtually impossible to capture a decent picture. However, I think that's what makes it fun. It's part of the memory of our little girl growing up and the personality that evolves in her. We had to use distraction to get her to sit on the couch for this picture. We chose that distraction to be the Kleenex box. Needless to say, maybe we should have picked something else. I think the pictures speak for themselves.

The "best" of the bunch

Fort Wayne

Last weekend we headed to Fort Wayne to stay with our friends Nick and Krissy. Jason plays in a golf scramble up there every year and it was this past weekend. Lucy came along for the ride this year. She spent most of the weekend chasing around Nick and Krissy's dogs. She LOVED it. They would let her crawl all over them and come up to them and "pet" them, which is sometimes more of a hit. This is something Lucy is not used to because our dog does the complete opposite. Anytime Lucy tries to chase after Molly, she runs from her. Granted, Lucy thinks this is a fun game as well, but she also enjoyed being able to be up close and personal to these dogs. Other than Jason playing golf on Friday, we spent the weekend just relaxing and eating some good food. Thanks for being such great hosts Nick and Krissy. Here are a couple of pictures of Lucy with her new friends.

Pool Party

Lucy and I headed to Shelbyville a couple of weeks ago to get together with all of my girlfriends from high school and their kids. Luckily, April has a pool at her house, so we invited ourselves over and enjoyed the lovely weather. Lucy was able to try out her ladybug pool float for the first time. The water was a little chilly, but she seemed to really enjoy it. We had a great time playing with all of the kids (6 total with one on the way) and catching up with each other. Here are a few pictures from the day.

Blog Slacker/Lucy's Tubes

I've been a blog slacker lately, so I have a few posts to put together all at once to catch up on our last few weeks. Also, Lucy had her tubes placed yesterday and everything went great. She tolerated the whole thing like a champ, and was only fussy for a little bit right when she came out of anesthesia. Once we got home, and she got something to eat, she was back to the same old happy-go-lucky Lucy that we love. Thanks everyone for all of your thoughts and prayers!

Lucy's Silly Ears

Well, our battle with ear infections will hopefully soon be relieved. Lucy has had 5 ear infections since December, so she officially qualified herself for tubes. She will have the procedure done next Wednesday, June 17th, sometime early in the morning. Please be thinking of us next week and pray that everything goes smoothly. We know that this is a routine thing, but we still are a little freaked out about having our little princess put under. Hopefully this will make her little ears a little happier.

Mom and Dad Night Out

Last weekend we went out for our yearly outing to Bonges Tavern with a group from work. We don't get to do very much on our own without the little one, and we had a great time, maybe a little bit too much fun. We go with the same group every year. If you've never been to Bonges, it's a hole-in-the-wall restaurant in the middle of nowhere. The idea is that you get there early in order to tailgate before dinner. If you have ever have the chance to go, we would definitely recommend it. We have a great time every year. This year there was an added bonus in that Peyton Manning was also eating dinner there as well. Everyone let him be and enjoy his dinner so we didn't get any pictures, but it's a great story none the less.

Recent Favorites

We are always taking pictures of Lucy, so I thought I would just do a post of some recent favorite pictures of her and what she has been up to these days.

She loves swinging on the neighbor's swing
One of her favorite toys
She finally learned to pull herself up on her own (plus this is the best toy ever and she loves it)
Destroying the playroom (an everyday occurrence)
Enjoying bath time
Especially in the big bathtub, with bubbles, and with daddy (plus with Molly on the lookout)
Lucy's hair after bath time (she might have had some help getting it to look like this)
